Good luck to us all. There seems to be a science to choosing the right school or placement. I don't presume to know what is best for anyone else, not even for myself. Of course my "mother-in-law" tried to convince me to change placements for about three weeks; she's a hs teacher, wary of McNair's rep. The more people protested, the more I wanted to work there. I don't want to be arrogant, thinking that I was god's gift to students. Surely, I'm not, yet. But I knew I wanted to teach kids that other people had maybe given up on and who needed quality education the most. I could go on for pages....

Your school will be tough, but you've got the right spirit. I love that you became more committed to your choice the more people protested. I definitely didn't have you in mind when I wrote the above rant or anybody in particular-just a type of self-congratulation I've noticed over the last few years that rubs me the wrong way.
