Tim Teacher

I am a new teacher and consider myself hip. However, I am struggling to determine how to walk the line and appear hip to my students while maintaining my respect and authority.

Also, I am having trouble with my student tracking me down online and posting comments on top of me. This has deterred my ability to use the internet. However, I recently was asked to be part of a test user group for a private professional networking site for K-12th grade educators. I hope the APPLEBATCH site goes live this September and I can connect with peers across the US in a safe and secure environment.

I have to say, the tech guy thing is hilarious! Luckily my tech guy doesn't do that:)
I can't get past the edublogs homepage, either, and I've been trying for two days. What's up with that? I'm anxious to start mine as well!

I dunno. I tried once more with kids and then switched them over to blogger. Then I tried again with a teacher group earlier this week, and when it still didn't work, I set them up on Wordpress. Bizarre that Wordpress worked like a dream but not Edublogs since it is basically the same thing.

Chris HELP!

Is this blog still running?

I found this post interesting since I already feel the next school year breathing down my neck. As a 5th grade GT teacher looping with students who are overall talented writers, I wonder if getting them into blogging would be a good idea?

I am so glad to hear you run into the login/password issue at your school also. It seems to take too long for the students to enter the PC world and then keep up with the tight time demands for accomplishing a task. I will be entering the world of student blogging this year, for the first time. I am wondering how you have the permission of the “filter wardens” to set up the blogs and what hoops, if any, your students must jump through to work on the blog while at a school computer?
